This is an exciting role for someone with significant experience in a communications, public relations or journalism who is used to working in a fast paced communications environment during a time of significant change.

You will have excellent written and oral skills and experience of delivering communication strategies and narratives to explain organisational change, and will be able to manage competing demands including responding to media enquiries to tight deadlines.

You will have relationships with key media contacts and opinion formers and will be able to prepare high quality, effective written material including proactive press releases, opinion pieces, briefing packs, and award submissions.

You will possess a high level of political sensitivity and judgement and preferably have an understanding of the workings of the local government including the current issues and challenges.

You will have experience of providing advice and guidance on media and communications across all levels, including senior management and elected members and you will also be able to provide advice and supervision for media work for two Media and Social Media Officers.
