Finance Manager

NJC Scale Points 41 - 44
Permanent, Full time, 36 hours per week
£38,990 - £41,845 per annum

Start date: Autumn Term 2018

An able and experienced Finance Manager is required to join an outstanding and growing ‘all-through’ academy, with the skills to lead the Finance Team.

The successful candidate will work directly with the Finance Director, and line manage other finance colleagues, dealing with a wide variety of tasks including preparation of month and year end reports, liaising with Auditors, dealing with accounts queries and dealing with the students and staff of the Academy. They will also liaise with our payroll providers, dealing with queries as necessary. Good technical knowledge of finance and accounting procedures is required, up to Trial Balance level.

Applicants will need to be able to work independently, whilst leading others and deal with a number of different business functions within the academy. The role is varied, interesting, and will develop further as our academy grows. We currently have over 900 Year 7 to 11 students on roll, 260 in our Sixth Form and our growing primary phase has 240 students from September 2018. The Academy is moving to Multi-Academy Trust MAT) status and will have a centralised finance team. We will open a second school in the near future.

The successful candidate will ideally have significant relevant experience together with an appropriate qualification, or current study in this area. An ability to operate professionally, to deal with confidential information and to interact appropriately across a number of levels, will also be important. Candidates will demonstrate an ability to use their own initiative and have a common sense approach.
